ROUND 13 TEAMS AND FIXTURE (all times AEST)

ADELAIDE CROWS v GEELONG

Thursday June 4, 7.30pm at Adelaide Oval

Crows’ Round 11 side

B: J.Worrell, J.Borlase, M.Michalanney

HB: R.Laird, J.Butts, W.Milera

C: J.Soligo, J.Dawson – C, B.Cook

HF: I.Rankine, R.Thilthorpe, D.Curtin

F: A.Neal-Bullen, D.Fogarty, B.Keays

FOLL: L.McAndrew, J.Rachele, S.Berry

I/C: C.Ah Chee, Z.Taylor, J.Peatling, L.Nankervis, T.Murray

EMG: H.Bond, C.Jones, N.Murray

In: – R.Thilthorpe, C.Ah Chee

Out: – L.Pedlar (Injured), I.Cumming (Injured)

Team Tips: Set to be forced into at least one change from their team that fell to Hawthorn a fortnight ago after Izak Rankine’s calf setback, while scans cleared Callum Ah Chee of a thumb fracture but he requires further assessment. Taylor Walker is set for a recall after the veteran kicked five goals in the Crows’ last SANFL game. Luke Pedlar wasn’t listed on the injury report last week, so the forward should also be good to go, and Mark Keane shouldn’t be far off a return from his leg fracture.

Cats’ Round 12 side

B: C.O’Sullivan, T.Stewart, S.De Koning

HB: M.O’Connor, Z.Guthrie, J.Henry

C: M.Blicavs, B.Smith, L.Humphries

HF: J.Cameron, S.Mannagh, O.Dempsey

F: O.Henry, S.Neale, P.Dangerfield – C

FOLL: M.Edwards, M.Holmes, O.Mullin

I/C: J.Kolodjashnij, T.Atkins, G.Miers, B.Close, T.Bruhn

EMG: R.Stanley, J.Bowes, O.Wiltshire

In: – T.Bruhn

Out: – J.Martin (Managed)

Team Tips: After being managed against the Blues, Jack Martin should come straight back into Chris Scott’s 23. Geelong has been managing its list in recent weeks and could look to continue that theme for the trip to Adelaide, with no obvious omissions despite an upset loss to Carlton. George Stevens (41 touches) and Jack Bowes (three goals from 28 disposals) both put their hands up for recalls with strong VFL outings, depending on how much Scott may want to tinker with his mix. Though the Geelong coach didn’t seem too concerned with his side’s performance, so there shouldn’t be dramatic moves.

HAWTHORN v WESTERN BULLDOGS

Friday June 5, 7.40pm at the MCG

Hawks’ Round 12 side

B: J.Impey, J.Battle, J.Sicily

HB: B.Macdonald, B.Hardwick, K.Amon

C: J.Weddle, C.Mackenzie, M.D’Ambrosio

HF: J.Gunston, M.Chol, D.Moore

F: N.Watson, M.Lewis, C.Macdonald

FOLL: N.Reeves, J.Newcombe, W.Day

I/C: J.Ginnivan, L.Meek, J.Ward, C.Nairn, C.Nash

EMG: A.Schubert, J.Dalton, F.Perez

IN: J.Gunston, W.Day

OUT: B.Ryan, F.Maginness (both omitted)

Team Tips: Set to welcome back Connor Nash from a neck spasm and could regain Tom Barrass (hamstring) if the star defender gets through training this week unscathed. That would essentially get Sam Mitchell’s side to full strength. Unless there’s any concerns with Jack Gunston, who spent the majority of the fourth quarter of Hawthorn’s win over St Kilda on the bench in the forward’s return from a foot issue. Flynn Perez was the late in for Nash and probably makes way for the returning midfielder, while one of Cameron Nairn or Bailey Macdonald probably get squeezed out if Barrass is good to go.

Bulldogs’ Round 12 side

B: N.Coffield, B.Khamis, M.Sellwood

HB: C.Budarick, J.O’Donnell, B.Dale

C: J.Freijah, M.Bontempelli – C, L.Jaques

HF: R.Sanders, J.Croft, A.Jones

F: W.Lewis, A.Naughton, R.West

FOLL: R.Lobb, M.Kennedy, E.Richards

I/C: T.English, A.Treloar, L.Bramble, L.McNeil, C.Hynes

EMG: C.May, L.Carmichael, O.Baker

In: – T.English

Out: – L.Cleary (Injured)

Team Tips: Plenty of fascination around Cody Weightman as Luke Beveridge weighs up throwing the forgotten gun forward straight in the senior team for his first game since 2024 due to repeated knee issues. Though having the extra man on the bench would help, Weightman going straight into the AFL side before even making a VFL appearance would be some sort of bold punt from the Dogs. Beveridge even said the 25-year old was too good to be playing in the twos. That could spell the end of Cooper Hynes’ time in the senior team as the most suitable like-for-like, though Lachie Jaques is also on the fringes and Adam Treloar hasn’t quite looked like the Adam Treloar we’re used to seeing. Tom Liberatore (concussion/knee) doesn’t appear close to returning.

NORTH MELBOURNE v FREMANTLE

Saturday June 6, 2.15pm at Hands Oval

Kangaroos’ Round 11 side

B: W.Dawson, G.Logue, C.Comben

HB: C.McKercher, C.Daniel, L.Parker

C: J.Simpkin, F.O’Sullivan, D.Stephens

HF: P.Curtis, C.Trembath, C.Spargo

F: C.Zurhaar, N.Larkey – C, Z.Duursma

FOLL: T.Xerri, L.Davies-Uniacke, H.Sheezel

I/C: G.Wardlaw, L.McDonald, R.Hardeman, J.Darling, J.Konstanty

EMG: M.Whitlock, C.Harvey, T.Blamires

In: – R.Hardeman

Out: – T.Blamires (Omitted)

Team Tips: Fresh off a week off, the Roos are pretty well settled and coming off arguably their best ever win over Alastair Clarkson in that epic comeback over Gold Coast. That would all point to the Roos going unchanged for their ‘home’ game against Freo in Bunbury. North’s VFL team also had a bye, so its players on the outside didn’t get a chance to audition for a recall. Callum Coleman-Jones would’ve cleared concussion protocols, but he doesn’t feel like an automatic inclusion. Tom Blamires should also come into consideration and Robert Hansen jnr (32 disposals) had a strong VFL return last week.

Dockers’ Round 12 side

B: B.Cox, A.Pearce – C, H.Chapman

HB: J.Clark, L.Ryan, J.McVee

C: M.Frederick, A.Brayshaw, N.O’Driscoll

HF: M.Reid, I.Dudley, S.Switkowski

F: P.Voss, J.Amiss, J.Treacy

FOLL: L.Jackson, S.Bolton, M.Johnson

I/C: K.Worner, C.Wagner, N.Erasmus, C.Scerri, M.Cox

EMG: J.O’Meara, J.Sharp, O.McDonald

In: – A.Pearce

Out: – O.McDonald (Omitted)

Team Tips: Star midfield duo Caleb Serong (calf) and Hayden Young (concussion) are closing in on their returns ahead of a big week on the track for the ladder leaders, who’ve won a club record 11 games in a row. Matthew Johnson (hamstring) and Brennan Cox (knee) were casualties from the win over Brisbane. Sean Darcy impressed with 13 disposals and 35 hit-outs in his return from a calf issue in the WAFL, in his bid to regain his backup ruck spot from Mason Cox. But with how well the Dockers are tracking, hard to see Cox dropping out of the side right now.

SYDNEY SWANS v ST KILDA

Sunday June 7, 3.15pm at the SCG

Swans’ Round 12 side

B: L.Melican, T.McCartin, W.Edwards

HB: H.Kyle, N.Blakey, R.Bice

C: J.Serong, J.Rowbottom, J.Jordon

HF: J.Lloyd, Ch.Warner, H.Cunningham

F: J.Amartey, C.Curnow, L.McDonald

FOLL: P.Ladhams, I.Heeney – C, J.McInerney

I/C: S.Wicks, A.Sheldrick, C.Cleary, T.Hanily, H.McLean

EMG: J.Hamling, J.Dattoli, Co.Warner

In: – H.Kyle, H.Cunningham, P.Ladhams, H.McLean

Out: – C.Mills (Injured), M.Rosas (Injured), T.Papley (Injured), B.Grundy (Managed)

Team Tips: After a destructive win against Richmond, there’s unlikely to be too much unforced change pending the returns of some stars. One of those is Brodie Grundy, who was managed for the Tigers fixture, while captain Callum Mills, who pulled up sore at training last week and missed, could return against the Saints this Sunday, pending his ability to get through the week. Malcolm Rosas (ankle) could come back into the frame, though he was listed as 1-2 weeks on last week’s injury report, so he might be given some more time to rest up. Matt Roberts, meanwhile, could return in some capacity this week following a groin ailment. Justin McInerney was put on ice at three-quarter-time last Saturday after rolling his ankle, though that appeared precautionary more than anything. But Lewis Melican will be a watch after hamstring tightness meant he couldn’t finish the match. In the VFL, Billy Cootee was among his side’s best players after totalling 27 disposals, a goal and six tackles, while Corey Warner got busy with 25 touches but kicked four behinds. Warner and Jesse Dattoli – who booted 1.1 from 18 possessions – were both among the Swans’ emergencies last Saturday.

Saints’ Round 12 side

B: J.Silvagni, C.Wilkie, A.Caminiti

HB: A.Tauru, R.Byrnes, M.Windhager

C: L.O’Connell, M.Hall, B.Hill

HF: H.Garcia, M.Phillipou, M.Wood

F: D.Wilson, C.Sharman, C.Banfield

FOLL: T.De Koning, S.Flanders, J.Sinclair

I/C: J.Macrae, I.Keeler, J.Carroll, R.Marshall, L.Henry

EMG: T.Travaglia, L.Stocker, A.Hastie

IN: I.Keeler, A.Tauru

OUT: D.Howard (injured), L.Stocker (managed)

Team Tips: After a very disappointing loss to Hawthorn, the Saints are set to receive a big boost in the form of Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera’s return from a calf injury. And speaking of calf ailments, Liam Ryan and Mitch Owens are also on track to return from calf issues when St Kilda travels to play the red-hot Swans at the SCG. They’re much-needed additions to a side that had a torrid time trying to score against the Hawks under the roof, but they come at the expense of Sam Flanders, who’ll miss the remainder of the season after rupturing his Achilles in a cruel blow. Otherwise, Tobie Travaglia, Liam Stocker and Angus Hastie were the emergencies last Thursday. Stocker was managed for the clash and had 19 disposals and eight marks in the VFL on Saturday.

ESSENDON v CARLTON

Sunday June 7, 7.20pm at the MCG

Bombers’ Round 12 side

B: M.Kondogiannis, Z.Reid, J.Prior

HB: A.Roberts, B.McKay, J.Farrow

C: X.Duursma, D.Parish, A.Day-Wicks

HF: N.Cox, N.Caddy, S.Robey

F: A.May, K.Langford – C, N.Bryan

FOLL: L.Blakiston, Z.Merrett, A.Perkins

I/C: E.Tsatas, J.Gresham, W.Setterfield, S.El-Hawli, T.Edwards

EMG: H.Jones, H.El Achkar, J.Nguyen

In: – M.Kondogiannis, N.Cox, E.Tsatas, W.Setterfield, S.El-Hawli

Out: – A.McGrath (Injured), M.Redman (Injured), S.Durham (Injured), J.Caldwell (Injured), M.Guelfi (Injured)

Team Tips: The Bombers entered last week with a 16-player injury list, and in last Sunday’s loss to the Eagles, Archie May added to that toll when he sustained a shoulder injury. Mason Redman (sore knee) was an unexpected exclusion due to injury last week and could return to face Carlton this Sunday. Others in contention to play the Blues include Sam Durham (concussion) and Jye Caldwell (ankle), while Jordan Ridley (calf) could return in some capacity this weekend. Harry Jones, Huss El Achkar and Jayden Nguyen were Essendon’s emergencies last weekend, with Nguyen held over from the VFL. El Achkar kicked 2.1 in the reserves, who lost by 10 goals to Werribee. On a positive note, Lewis Hayes made a return after recovering from his ACL injury last year. Saad El-Hawli could come under selection pressure this week after registering three effective kicks and four clangers in 81 per cent game time against West Coast.

Blues’ Round 11 side

B: B.Wilson, J.Weitering, N.Haynes

HB: O.Florent, H.Dean, L.Cowan

C: A.Cerra, S.Walsh, B.Acres

HF: B.Ainsworth, M.McGovern, W.Hayward

F: T.Byrne, H.McKay, F.Young

FOLL: M.Pittonet, J.Smith, P.Cripps – C

I/C: N.Newman, G.Hewett, B.Kemp, F.Evans, J.Ison

EMG: W.Derksen, Z.Williams, H.O’Keeffe

In: – J.Weitering, B.Acres

Out: – W.Derksen (Omitted), M.Carroll (Injured)

Team Tips: These Josh Fraser-led Blues just keep on rolling, claiming their latest scalp, Geelong, to make it three-straight wins under his leadership. It very likely means a stable week at selection ahead of a favourable matchup with toiling Essendon, despite the availability of Adam Saad, who tallied 25 possessions in the reserves. Also pushing for a senior recall is Cooper Lord, who was the Blues’ best at VFL level with three goals from 26 disposals and six clearances, though the reserves lost by 50 points. Matt Cottrell also had 26 possessions and 1.1 with eight marks, while Zac Williams is also running around in the VFL. So, it’s not as if there aren’t names pushing for a call-up – but right now, this isn’t an easy Carlton side to break into. Williams, Wade Derksen and Hudson O’Keeffe were Fraser’s emergencies last Friday night. Ollie Hollands (ankle) shouldn’t be far off returning, either.

King: “Punished ourselves with the ball” | 05:52

COLLINGWOOD v MELBOURNE

Monday June 8, 3.15pm at the MCG

Magpies’ Round 12 side

B: B.Maynard – C, J.Howe, B.Frampton

HB: W.Parker, J.Daicos, I.Quaynor

C: P.Lipinski, S.Sidebottom, E.Allan

HF: L.Schultz, H.Harrison, B.McCreery

F: D.McStay, T.Membrey, J.De Goey

FOLL: D.Cameron, S.Pendlebury, N.Daicos

I/C: D.Houston, J.Crisp, A.Anderson, N.Long, R.Steele

EMG: C.West, S.Swadling, J.Buller

In: – W.Parker, H.Harrison, T.Membrey, A.Anderson

Out: – D.Moore (Injured), J.Elliott (Injured), C.West (Omitted), W.Hayes (Injured)

Team Tips: The good news is Collingwood got through the loss to the Bulldogs unscathed after tough stretch of injury setbacks. The bad news is that they lost and now sit outside finals as Craig McRae will contemplate changes. It’s the centre of the ground where the Pies are struggling most as pressure comes on Darcy Cameron, which could open the door for 27-year old ruckman and mid-season draftee Harrison Coe to get an opportunity to form a tandem with Cameron. But, this week? Ned Long looks lost as a forward, and if that’s where he’s going to play, they might turn to Jack Buller, Charlie West or mid-season draftee Mitch Podhajski, who led the VFL in goalkicking for Coburg. Harry Perryman is nearing his return from a hamstring injury, while Lachie Sullivan (30 touches, 11 tackle) and Jakob Ryan (33 disposals) had strong VFL showings as other options to come in.

Demons’ Round 12 side

B: J.Bowey, D.Turner, K.Tholstrup

HB: B.Howes, H.Petty, T.Rivers

C: T.Sparrow, H.Langford, H.Sharp

HF: K.Pickett, E.Langdon, B.Laurie

F: K.Chandler, J.van Rooyen, B.Fritsch

FOLL: M.Gawn – C, J.Steele, C.Windsor

I/C: M.Jefferson, B.Mihocek, L.Pickett, P.Cross, A.Moniz-Wakefield

EMG: T.McDonald, M.Heath, J.Henderson

In: – B.Mihocek, L.Pickett, A.Moniz-Wakefield

Out: – J.Lever (Injured), C.Jiath (Managed), M.Heath (Omitted)

Team Tips: In a cruel blow, Andy Moniz-Wakefield has suffered another ACL injury on his left knee in the team’s loss to GWS in Alice Springs. It comes 12 months after Moniz-Wakefield suffered a right ACL injury that wiped out the defender’s entire 2025 season. it was the only Melbourne casualty to come out of the weekend, but a 49-point loss to GWS leaves Steven King with plenty to ponder. If Jake Lever clears concussion protocols, he’ll slot straight back in, and Changkuoth Jiath should also be good to go after being managed. Paddy Cross and Blake Howes were among their lowest rated players against GWS and should come under selection pressure. King could also be tempted to recall Max Heath, though the Dees did fare well in the clearance battle (+8) against the Giants and Max Gawn should be more than capable against Collingwood’s lone ruck setup with Darcy Cameron. Mid-season draftee Joel Fitzgerald (40 touches, 15 contested, one goal) had a big day out in the VFL to continue his strong season, previously for Williamstown, to throw his name into the selection mix.
